Command Sergeant Major Randy Gillespie is a native of Spartanburg, SC. During his 27 year career he has held a variety of leadership and key staff positions from Section Chief to Sergeant Major. CSM Gillespie joined the United States Army in 1989 as a 31M, Multichannel Telecommunications Operator and attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Jackson, SC and Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, GA.

His military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course (Commandant’s List), 31R Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), 31W Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Courses (Honor Graduate), Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officer Course, Antiterrorism Program Managers Course, Basic Airborne School, Security Manager Course, Information Assurance Security Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, Combatives LVL I, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, USAR Force Management Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 63). CSM Gillespie has earned his Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Grantham University and continues to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.
